Odyssey means a "long adventurous Journey," twists, turns, bumps, and crossroads. That is how it is with faith too: ups and downs, toing and froing, plain sailing, unexpected obstacles, grave disappointments, pleasant surprises, and sometimes a helping hand from above when most needed. Faith is the greatest journey of all, an adventure unparalleled.
Faith Odyssey takes Christ as its central focus, especially His teaching. Therefore, we are interested in the four canonical Gospels. Ultimately, what is most important is our eternal salvation, however, we have a life to live first, and how we live it, matters. Christ's teaching shows us how to live, and if enough of us live according to Christ's way, the world will change.
Good scholarship is crucial, but it takes good teaching to penetrate hearts and change lives. Faith Odyssey, though built on secure scholarship, will lean towards the teaching/missionary dimension of the Christian enterprise, and will aim to be both bold and creative along the way.
Our Adventus Academy New Testament Affiliates, will contribute to Faith Odyssey in different ways (articles, interviews, and via participation in our CANA Room Podcast and via the CANA Talks Faith Odyssey series).
